Very lucky indeed, this uniquely egg shaped lucky daruma doll is portrayed in kokeshi style. The dark wood is graduated in shades of brown and had been formed from a single piece of wood. The facial markings of the daruma are hand painted, resulting in each piece being one of a kind. The artist has signed his name on the back for identification and authentication. As in a true daruma, the arms and legs are missing because the original daruma spent too much time praying in a cave. It is a symbol for perseverance because, even though it gets knocked down it will always right itself. Unlike the traditional daruma, this wooden daruma does not up itself because it has a flat bottom. Makes a perfect gift for a loved one or friend. Packaged in a paper gift box. Made in Japan.
