I have been using one for more than 20 years. For a while I put it in the dishwasher, ignorantly. The handle became loose; I pounded it back. It has held up since. It is easy to sharpen. It is a versatile piece of cutting instrument. It compliments my Western chef's knife and Chinese kitchen knife.
